the Spartan experience for the 2026–2027 academic year.
These elected officials serve as the governing council for the Associated Students, a student-owned non-profit dedicated to maximizing student life through leadership, advocacy, and campus-wide services.

Get Involved
Help shape the future of student leadership: join the 2026-2027 Students' Election Commission (SEC) as an officer, consultant, or student-at-large!
The purpose of the SEC is to conduct an engaging, fair and unbiased student government election. The A.S. Student Elections happen in the Spring semester. The SEC plans elections with the help of various students-at-large, as well as officers in specific roles.
Benefits of serving on the SEC:
- An opportunity to be a part of Associated Students and the greater campus community
- Make your voice heard on different issues on campus

The Associated Students (A.S.) Board of Directors represent the student body as their governing council. They are the voice of SJSU students and advocate on their behalf on campus, statewide and national issues affecting them.
Students' Elections Commission
Comprised of a mix of students and staff advisors, the SEC runs student government elections annually in a fair, ethical, and timely manner. Meeting weekly, promoting and implementing events and activities, and more, to help elect the A.S. Board of Directors for the 2025-2026 academic year.
